Rampur: Three youths were critically injured late Thursday night after two cars collided head-on near the Dhanora turn on the Shahabad–Bilari road in Rampur district. The injured were part of a wedding procession travelling from Amla Ghatampur village in the Mundhapande police station area to Tanda Bansidhar in the Shahabad region.
According to local sources, the accident occurred when the car carrying members of the wedding party crashed into an oncoming vehicle near Dhanora turn. The impact of the collision was severe, leaving both cars badly damaged.
The injured have been identified as Harendra (25), Rampal (20) and Gangaram (27). All three sustained serious injuries in the accident. Upon receiving information, the police rushed to the spot and, with the help of local residents, shifted the injured youths to the Community Health Centre (CHC) by ambulance for treatment. Doctors have described their condition as critical.
The police cleared the damaged vehicles from the road to restore traffic and have initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident.
